Role Purpose:

The Team Lead will play a central role in building and integrating the new Accounting Shared Service Centre (SSC) for the Nordic & Baltic countries. This position is responsible for leading accounting operations for all Nordic & Baltic entities and acting as the Chief Accountant for the region. The role includes managing and developing accounting teams located across several Nordic & Baltic countries, harmonizing and standardizing end-to-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with local and international accounting standards, and driving the transition into a unified SSC structure. The position involves managing a team of accountants, coordinating month-end and year-end close, and acting as a key liaison between local finance teams and global SSC functions.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

    • Lead, coach, develop and motivate a team of accountants located across multiple Nordic countries to achieve service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs.
    • Integrate existing local accounting teams into a cohesive Nordic & Baltic SSC team while maintaining strong local collaboration.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, close collaboration and transparent communication to become a cohesive team.
    • Drive change management activities related to the SSC setup and process transitions.

Accounting Operations

    • Act as the Chief Accountant for all Nordic & Baltic entities, ensuring accuracy in statutory, local GAAP, and IFRS reporting.
    • Oversee full-cycle accounting: journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and statutory reporting.
    • Oversee subledger activities:  accounts receivable, accounts payable & travel management processes in close collaboration with the SSC Poland regarding shared processes, such as AP.
    • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close for Nordic & Baltic entities.
    • Responsible for certain processes within the SSC.

Process Improvement & Harmonisation

    • Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within SSC processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
    • Support SAP enhancements and global finance transformation projects.
    • Collaborate closely with global SSC function to support and drive global process harmonisation and standardisation.

Compliance & Controls

    • Maintain adherence to IFRS/local GAAP and company policies.
    • Ensure internal control effectiveness.
    • Work together with Accounting Compliance Specialist.

Stakeholder Management

    • Act as the main point of contact for Nordic & Baltic finance teams.
    • Collaborate with global SSC teams on standardization and best practices.

Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
    • Provide insights through KPI reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:
Bachelor´s/Master´s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Chartered Accountant or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Experience in a Shared Service Centre or multinational environment preferred.
    • Experience in leading cross-country teams is a strong plus.

Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
    • Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel.
    • Experience with ERP transformation (e.g., S/4HANA) is an advantage.

Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills in English (Nordic language is a plus).
    • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
    • Problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Ability to work with different cultures and to travel.
