JOB FUNCTION AND SCOPE
This position is responsible for continually improving the company’s Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Health & Safety (25%)
- Develop the Safety Culture of the company.
- Develop and implement programs and policies for monitoring and preventing incidences.
- Develop and assist in implementing safety metrics including ASR/AFR, TRIR, audit completion rate and action item closure rate.
- Review trends regarding the incidence types, severity and frequency, determine needed actions and work with the General Managers to implement the needed improvements.
- Oversee the completion of detailed Risk Assessments.
- Ensure legal compliance is maintained with all applicable OSHA regulations
- Quality (25%)
- Develop, maintain and improve quality metrics including Quality Out of the Box and Cost Of Quality measures, which evaluate customer satisfaction and cost trends.
- Assist in diagnosing manufacturing/quality problems and establishing corrective action programs.
- Participate with supply chain management, manufacturing and engineering to establish procedures and implement quality specification and standards for products and materials.
- Oversee the development of suppliers via proactive communication and using report cards.
- Participate with product engineers in advanced quality planning for new product development and projects in areas relevant to quality standards, procedures and processes.
- Oversee the determination of product characteristics to be inspected by production. Work closely with production to develop inspection and test methods and audit their consistent application.
- Work closely with Sales, Product Management and Representatives concerning issues at customers’ facilities.
- Monitor customer performance reports and take action as needed.
- Environmental (20%)
- Develop and implement programs and policies for achieving company goals.
- Oversee the reporting of monthly and annual environmental data to Geberit including electricity, natural gas, water, substance usage and fuel consumption.
- Ensure new substances are reviewed for potential hazards prior to being brought into the facilities.
- Ensure legal compliance is maintained with all applicable EPA and DOT regulations
- Compliance with standards (20%)
- Coordinate and lead the company effort to maintain ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards certifications.
- Function as the Management Representative for the ISO management system.
- Responsible for ensuring the GMS management system is maintained in accordance with the ISO standards and present reports on the performance of the GMS to top management for review and as a basis for improvement of the GMS.
- Interact with Geberit Corporate to align with initiatives and policies.
- Departmental Management (10%)
- Lead the QEHS functions.
- Organize and lead the Management Review process to evaluate the performance of GMS.
- Establish departmental objectives and evaluate employee performance regularly at least once a year.
- Develop, monitor and control the department budget.
- Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay-off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, and discipline employees as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in Quality.
- 5+ years of experience in ISO 14001, 9001 and 18001
- 5+ years of auditing experience
- 5+ years of Microsoft office experience.
- 3+ years of Safety and/or Environmental experience
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree or MBA.
- Industry experience (durable goods manufacturing)
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
- 5+ years’ experience in multi-plant responsibility.

- Possesses ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers, including decimals and fractions.
- Simple use of formulas, charts, tables.
- Ability to check for accuracy of reports, forms, records and comparable data, where interpretation is required.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.

SALARY
Starting $150,000

They must frequently move about the office to access equipment and communicate with other employees. Occasionally transports office binders, files, boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level within the office is minimal. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Will be required to sometimes work on the factory floor where hearing, foot and vision protection may be necessary. This position may require up to 60% travel between local plants; and occasional international travel.
