JOB FUNCTION AND SCOPE
The Sales Project Manager will play an instrumental role in supporting the New Business Development Manager. Specific activities, related to NBD support, include but are not limited to:
- Communicate and coordinate with Marketing to support the needs of the New Business Development Manager. This will include but is not limited to requests for custom product configurations and marketing materials needed for presentations.
- Run regular reports to monitor price and margin with current (new) accounts and support the NBD Manager with information on price/margin for potential future accounts.
- Support NBD Manager with product and price information required to support the constant requests from HJC and other accounts that deal with potential new customers in the assigned industry verticals.
- Attend industry tradeshows. Those shows include, but are not limited to HJC annual Conference, RFMA, NRA, and AD.
- Assist NBD Manager with preparation for the shows and coordination of necessary marketing and tradeshow materials.
In addition to the responsibilities of supporting the New Business Development Manager, this position will cultivate long-term relationships with key national account decision makers, analysts and influencers, implement sales/marketing strategies and account initiatives and coordinate related activities of various internal departments with respect to the accounts assigned. Accounts assigned will include Grainger, HD Supply, and Fastenal. Assigned duties include but are not limited to coordination with Marketing to support digital sales assets required by the assigned accounts. Aside from responsibility for the relationships at the assigned national account headquarters the Sales Project Manager will also prepare various reports and provide analytical intelligence regarding the selected accounts. The Sales Project Manager will support the Region Sales Managers’ local initiatives with the National Accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales and customer management (40%)
- Work with the New Business Development Manager to maintain a strong sales funnel of current, mid-range and long-range target customers.
- Develop and promote new business opportunities, innovations and ideas with our national accounts’ Business Development Teams.
- Support New Business Development Activities by acting as the communication channel between Sales and Marketing regarding issues such as custom product configurations, new product ideas, samples and marketing material for presentations to potential new accounts.
- Acquire deep knowledge and insights into the business of the assigned national accounts. Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and decision-influencers
- In cooperation with the VP of Commercial Sales, prepare and conduct annual meetings with assigned national accounts, including pricing and rebate terms and proposals.
- Customer relations and support (20%)
- Establish strong relationships with key personnel at the assigned National Accounts at their headquarters and selected local markets (e.g. GMs, BDMs).
- Work with Marketing and other departments to provide appropriate support including product data information, digital support, sales support material, incentive programs and customer relationship activities following the Geberit guidelines.
- Work closely with Marketing and IT, when appropriate to maintain and ensure accuracy of enhanced product data in the customer “portals”.
- Participate in meaningful customer events at the national and sometimes local levels, as appropriate.
- Alignment and coordination (20%)
- Communicate important information regarding assigned National Accounts to the Chicago Faucets Region Managers and support the rollout of new programs.
- Track the progress of our local and regional activities with National Accounts to ensure alignment with the overall strategic plan.
- Define individual sales targets for National Accounts that align with overall sales strategy.
- Monitor overall sales success and success of individual programs and provide information to sales management.
- Communicate individual sales results to national accounts, discuss deviations and resulting activities.
- Lead/coordinate delivery of strategic projects and product launches (10%)
- Manage conflicts/trouble-shoot with Marketing and Operations teams
- Co-ordinate implementation of new product launches, marketing campaigns, and price changes.
- All other duties as assigned (10%)
- This position would ideally be a training platform for a future Region Sales Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a College or University.
- 3+ years of sales experience.
- 3+ years of working knowledge of the sales process
- 3+ years of experience developing customer relationships.

- Possesses ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents and governmental regulations
- Ability required in the writing of routine reports, business correspondence and electronic correspondence

- Ability to check the accuracy of reports, forms, records and compare data when required
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, managers and customers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Advanced capabilities using MS Office suite of products to include PowerPoint, Word and most importantly Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to learn multiple customer product data platforms.
- Ability to check for accuracy of reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required.

Starting pay $78,000 / year
