Job Description
Technical Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION

This key leadership role is responsible for driving production technology, maintenance and digitalization, ensuring that the plant continues to operate safely, efficiently, and at a high technological standard.

As Technical Manager, you will have a central role in ensuring safe, stable, and high-performing ceramic production. You will lead operational excellence, guide technology development, and promote continuous improvement, all in alignment with Geberit’s Group standards and long-term strategic goals. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence the plant’s direction, shape future capabilities, and contribute to sustainable industrial leadership.

MAIN TASKS

Your responsibility is to ensure that ceramic production remains safe, efficient, and cost-effective while maintaining stable processes that consistently meet quality, delivery, and cost KPIs. You will drive digitalization and establish robust mid- and long-term technical and investment plans and foster a strong performance culture with a clear focus on Producing Quality and EHS.

In this role, you will lead the production technology and maintenance departments and serve as chairperson of the plant’s CAPEX Committee, overseeing prioritization, decision preparation, and structured follow-up.

You will

  • own and drive Mid Term Planning for the plant’s technical scope, investment priorities, and capacity development
  • facilitate the plant’s Vision Room to strengthen transparency, alignment, and performance steering across the organisation
  • ensure that production performance meets targets for productivity, quality, delivery, and cost
  • advance Lean Management and GPS 2.0 value-stream optimization, accelerate digitalization initiatives, and foster data-driven decision-making.

A core part of your leadership is cultivating a strong Environment, Health and Safety culture through active engagement and visible role-model behaviour. You manage objectives and KPIs through clear follow-up mechanisms and monitor trends in production technology, translating insights into actionable development and investment plans.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

You hold a university degree in engineering or have equivalent experience. You bring at least five years of leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, with a strong track record in investment planning, CAPEX governance, and change management.

As an inspiring leader and communicator, you bring an analytical, structured, and performance-driven approach to your work. Skilled in effective delegation and systematic follow-up, you actively contribute to your teams’ growth and development. With the ability to balance strategic vision and hands-on involvement, you excel in settings where continuous improvement and operational excellence are at the forefront.

In this role, Production will be your key internal customer, and you will work closely with its leadership to ensure high Overall Equipment Effectiveness through robust processes, strong equipment availability, and data-driven improvement. Strong presence, visibility, and a clear, structured leadership style are essential, as is your ability to lead change and ensure strategic alignment across functions.

Experience in industrial production—preferably in an international environment—is crucial. Equally important are excellent people leadership skills and the ability to guide teams through change. You work in a solution-oriented, analytical, and goal-focused manner, making decisions quickly and with clear reasoning. Fluency in Finnish and English is required; Swedish is an advantage.
