Engineer in Energy Management (f/m/d)

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Energy Manager supports the Group Energy & Carbon Manager in implementing the energy and CO₂ strategy and works closely with the sites. The goal is to standardise energy management practices and improve energy efficiency through technical expertise, evaluation of technologies, and operational support.

MAIN TASKS

Technical Analysis & Evaluation

  • Conduct technical assessments of solutions for energy savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Assess energy systems and calculate energy balance of the corresponding systems and production processes.
  • Conduct gap analysis of production processes and develop improvement proposals.
  • Calculate and compare energy systems (e.g., heat recovery systems, transformers, electrical installations).
  • Identify best available technologies (BAT) for CER applications.

Supplier Communication

  • Conduct technical discussions with suppliers and service providers for selected technologies.
  • Support tenders, bid evaluations, and supplier selection.

Project Support

  • Provide technical support in identifying and implementing energy projects.
  • Assist sites with specific technical questions and project execution.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and analyse energy data from sites.
  • Prepare reports and KPIs for internal stakeholders.

Standardisation & Best Practices

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of unified energy management standards.
  • Ensure the adoption of best practices for efficiency improvements.

Strategic Support

  • Directly support the Group Energy & Carbon Manager in strategic projects.
  • Prepare technical analyses and decision-making bases for investments.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Thermodynamics, Energy, Electrical, or Process Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Solid knowledge of energy management systems and technologies.
  • Experience in calculating and evaluating energy systems and heat recovery.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 50001, ISO 14001).
  • Experience with energy management software and data analysis tools
  • Basic understanding of legal requirements and incentive programs.
  • Excellent English skills for international communication.
  • Basic project management knowledge.
