JOB FUCTION AND SCOPE

The robotic polishing cell operator receives castings from the Machine Shop and processes them thru the polishing robot before moving these parts to Inspection.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Load and unloads multiple belting and buffing robots.

2. Operate all the mechanical and control functions of the cells including:

a. Installing, monitoring and replacing of abrasive belts

b. Installing, monitoring and replacing buff wheels

c. Initiating and downloading polishing & buffing programs, including       physical changeover and setup of work cell.

d. Basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of the programs and mechanical systems to support proper operation of work cell.

e. Maintain liquid and solid buffing compounds

3. Inspect each casting after belting and buffing; use a manual wheel to make corrections so that the parts are of acceptable quality to plate.

4. Fanuc Robotic tool handing.

5. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Recommended:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and 3-5 years polishing shop experience as a polisher or buffer are required.
  • Visual acuity is required.

Salary

Starting $28.00 per hour

Plus $3.00 per hour shift premium
