MAIN TASKS

To support the growing demand for product data across our digital ecosystem, we are looking for a technically skilled and communicative IT Product Owner / API Manager to lead the development of our Product Data APIs. These APIs serve as central interface, exposing product data to over 20 digital channels. This is a unique opportunity to shape a critical integration layer in a globally operating enterprise.

In your function you will be responsible for the following:

  • Own and drive the product vision and roadmap for the Product Data APIs, ensuring alignment with business and technical stakeholders
  • Manage the product backlog, write user stories, and prioritize development tasks in close collaboration with the Scrum team
  • Act as primary interface between the API development team and product owners of consuming and contributing applications, ensuring their requirements are well understood and translated into actionable development goals
  • Responsible for the design of our APIs, ensuring a coherent and well-structured catalogue that follows consistent design principles
  • Facilitate structured and transparent communication across teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding of API capabilities and changes
  • Monitor API usage and performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous optimization
  • Promote best practices in API design, documentation, and lifecycle management

PROFILE

You have at least 5 years of experience in technical product ownership and designing, managing, and operating REST APIs. Your skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong technical background, ideally with hands-on experience in backend development of microservices (Java / Spring Boot)
  • Good knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB), JSON and paradigms such as headless systems and microservices
  • Experience in working in agile environments, particularly in the role as Product Owner within Scrum teams, with a track record of guiding development teams and leading discussions on both current and future requirements
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Highly structured, organised, analytical, and proactive personality with a strong sense of ownership
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
